Fall Fair!

On Saturday, while these 2 were at their 5 1/2 hour rehearsal, my SIL, Ellen, my MIL, Di Anna and I decided to enjoy the beautiful fall day and took the 5 boys to the FAIR!!!!

They had a fantastic time riding all the kiddie rides and playing with each other!

Henderson satyed in his stroller nearly the entire time - I commented that it was a little odd that he was being SO GOOD! Well, about 3 hours later, when he started coughing in my car, right after I put him, and then threw up, BIG TIME, 3 times in a row in his car seat, I knew why! Did I mention that Will was out of town? And I had just picked up Emma Claire from her practice and that I still had to take them all home and bathe them and get them to bed and - uhhhhhgggg....I was SUPPOSED to be the lead character in the drama for our children's church the next morning.....I couldn't exactly leave Henderson home by himself, nor could I take him to church.....so I ran home, got my script and ran it by Ellen's house (with Henderson STILL strapped in his vomit-covered car seat) (Ellen also happened to be home by herself with all 4 children all weekend - the guys were at the KY vs. AL game). She willingly took on the roles, not that she had much other choice (well, I guess she could have kept my vomit-laden child, but she chose the better!) Henderson has kept a croupy cough, which is what I think led to the vomiting, but otherwise has been great!

Back to the FAIR!

I even got to ride something!

Let me just tell you about his little roller coaster - if you go to this fair, DO NOT PUT YOUR YOUNG CHILD ON THIS!!!! It is EXTREMELY rough and jerky and it lasted, no kidding, 8 minutes - the guy wouldn't stop it! Ellen laughed and said, "he's making it last forever so no child in their right mind will ask to get on it ever again!"

Look at those about-to-puke faces!!!!!

This is much BETTER!

I also rode the bumper cars with Wilson - I can' t believe he doesn't have whiplash after riding with me - I think I got a little competitive and carried away! What a fun time - we are planning to go back again with the girls this time, if this rain will EVER GO AWAY!!!!!

A little bit of everything!

Well, since apparently I've become a once-a-week blogger (or slacker, however you want to put it!), you get to see a whole week's worth of pictures in one post! Let's start last Wednesday night at church. We go and eat a wonderful dinner at church every Wed. night, then we all head to choir - and it's a literal ZOO in our little room off to the back! We got there early this past week, so I tried to snap a few pictures before we ate - Henderson is not at a good picture-taking age, to put it mildly!

Big brother and sister sure did try to help though!

Wilson and Emma Claire get along GREAT right now - and Emma Claire and Henderson get a long great (as long as she's not trying to build something and set things up precisely), but Henderson and Wilson - oh my - it's a constant battle over things - EVERYTHING!!!!!! Wilson doesn't quite "get" that Henderson is still a baby and doesn't quite understand the concept of sharing! This too shall pass - hopefully quickly!!!!!

Did I mention Henderson likes to climb? All I did was snap a couple quick pictures of Emma Claire and this is what Henderson was doing behind me! Thankfully I saved the cheesecake!

Next up we have Student Council Intitiation! I'm so proud of Emma Claire for being selected out of her class!

She walked proudly up to the stage and even managed to raise her (right) right hand!

Notice she stands out a little with the huge red megaphone applique on her shirt, but seriously, any solid white shirt in our house gets monogrammed with something!!!!!

Next we had the Alice in Wonderland performance at Barnes and Noble. Thank goodness for the train table in the children's section. But too bad Henderson squealed the whole time and Will had to leave with him - I'm telling you, he and Wilson are AT.IT.CONSTANTLY!!!!!! Henderson wants whatever Wilson has, even if he has the exact same thing in his hand already! Emma Claire has learned to just "give it up", Wilson, not so much!

He did get a quick run on stage before Will hauled him away!

Wilson got a chance to play with my camera - gasp!!!!!! I was a nervous wreck the whole time, but it kept him nearby and quiet for a few minutes! No really, Wilson was great - he didn't run off or throw a fit or anything! Maybe 3 is going to be GREAT!!!!!!

Here are a few shots Wilson took!

Katie joined us!

The cast members that could make it!

Last we have been enjoying this beautiful fall weather - it really makes me SO happy!

See that big branch? He was acting like a super hero -

then he dropped it on his toe - OUCH!

Looks like Wilson landed in the spotlight for this picture!

If you are local, or even semi-local, please make plans to attend this Wonderful, Magical show - I promise you won't be disappointed! We will be busy all weekend with Tech Rehearsals and Dress Rehearsals and all kinds of fun stuff!

Alice and a Birthday

WE are in full-swing with Alice in Wonderland Practices and mini-performances. Last Saturday (and I can't believe I forgot to post about it before-hand) a group performed at the Pancake breakfast fundraiser. Emma Claire is part of the tears cast - they are Alice's tears that she cries and is "drowning" in. Their costumes were not ready yet, so they all wore blue shirts and jeans. It is going to be SO CUTE! Emma Claire is LOVING the play - she is sad on the days when there is no play practice! It is certainly making her come out of her "shell" - we've had a few problems with her being a little TOO excited at Play Practice - we are talking about it daily and working on it - she just LOVES acting (and she's 5, which makes it very hard to sit still and quiet at 8:00 at night) - but she's doing great!
This Friday and Saturday you can come to the Tuscaloosa Barnes and Noble and any purchase you make, a portion will be donated to the Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre - just mention the Children's Theatre at check out and they will automatically give a portion! There will also be mini-performances by the characters Friday evening and Saturday morning, but that schedule has not come out yet. I will try to let you know more as I find out! If you're in town for the Alabama vs Arkansas game - come by Saturday morning!
The next thing that has happened around here is that Wilson is now 3!!!!!!! I CANNOT believe it - 3 years have just FLOWN by! I really meant to do a special birthday post ON HIS birthday, but as you can see, last Saturday was quite busy. And don't for a second think that because Wilson is the middle child that he would be "forgotten" - belive me when I say that there is NO WAY Wilson would ever let anyone forget him - or even "miss" him for a minute - you always know when Wilson is around - "Mr. Life Personified"!!!! This is especially true at 4:30 in the morning when he's at our bedside saying "Mommy, mommy, mommy I'm hungry, I want to watch a show" over and over and over again - until we get up and do requested task!!! It's a good thing I'm a morning person - not so good for Will some mornings when I'm already out the door for a run at 4:45 and THEN Wilson wakes up and it's all up to DADDY to deal with him!!!! Heee heee - I love it when I can make it out the door before Wilson wakes up! Hopefully one day he'll be my faithful running partner each morning.

(notice the eye patch on Emma Claire's left eye - this is part of her treatment to cover the "good eye" up at least 3 hours each day in order to strengthen the "weak" eye.)

Do you think he was excited about all the attention and cake he was getting?

Happy Birthday Sweet, Energetic, Concerned, Fiery, Sensitive, Caring, Beautiful, Ill-Tempered, Smart, Silly, Wild, Loveable, Tiny Wilson !!!!
(see what I mean by Life Personified??)
I love you dearly, even though you are my greatest struggle right now. But our greatest stuggles are what brings us closer to Jesus, and for that I am thankful for each and every moment I have with you!
