Fun with the Christmas Tree!

We had a little fun with the Christmas tree last night - I was able to get off the couch for about 30 minutes without feeling nauseous from all the pain medicine and antibiotics on an empty stomach- enough time to let the children have a little fun with "MY" tree - they are always entranced but the beautiful glass ornaments and the surprises they find!

I think Wilson is horrified that Henderson is eating the ornament!
Sure hope that' s not lead paint from 1943 (or China)!

Good news is... I'm feeling MUCH better today 100%- I highly recommend a root canal for anyone with a severe toothache - I know, sounds crazy, but you cannot imagine the pain that one little tooth can rack on your WHOLE body!!!!

It's been a bad bad day...

Well, from Monday nights' post, I told you that my face was hurting - all my upper teeth on the left side of my mouth. I assumed it was sinus pressure and everyone I talked to agreed. I called my brother-in-law (who's my dentist) yesterday and he said that it sounded like sinus pressure too. Well, after a night a intense pain medicine and antibiotics and steriods, the pain was worse than ever - I'm talking lay in the bed, everytime I get up I'm about to puke or pass out pain. To make matters worse, Henderson decided to wake up 3 times last night with a fever. He's fine now, but I stayed home from work with him. About 10:00 this morning I couldn't take it anymore, so I called my brother-in-law and they worked me in.

I had an absessed tooth - DEAD as a doorknob - more painful than childbirth (or the after pains) and I've had 3 C-sections!!!

I had Henderson with me at the dental office, so I called my father-in-law and bless his heart, he came and picked him up (my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are out of town). I called my best friend - whose husband happens to be my brother-in-law's dentist partner and she picked Emma Claire up from school and took her to gymnastics. Wilson stayed at school.

I stayed at the dental office and had 2 root canals - Yep, 2! The first one didn't quite get it all, so they had to go back in - it was bad (not the root canal - enough Nitrous Oxide and even the worst tooth pain goes away), but the tooth was BAD - apparently I probably knocked it on the head of one of the children at one point and thought nothing of it (you know what I'm talking about - wrestling or tickling the children and BAM head or fist in the mouth - happens all the time!)

I'm a different person now - totally pain free (thanks to 2 WONDERFUL dentists and a little Lortab) All the children are sound asleep (and I need to be), and I am on the computer. Well, off to rest - or clean my house!!!!

A BIG HUGE Thank You to Stan, William, GrandDaddy Bud, Ashley, and the school for helping out and understanding!

I said I wouldn't do it again....

BUT, we ALL went to the Alabama Basketball game last night and it was GREAT!!!! Wilson did fine this time, partly due to the fact that we sat in our seats instead of the front row seats, so he wasn't tempted to climb over the railing in search of Big Al! Henderson fell asleep on my shoulder and slept the 2nd half away - I love a baby to fall asleep in my arms - it was worth going, just to experience that!

Abner Wilson Patton III, IV, and V!!!!
Isn't that special?

Thank you, Wilson, for proving me wrong!
This little guy was mesmerized by all the action!

Sissy was excited because I let her wear her Cheerleading uniform and bring her pom poms!!!

I've been fooled...

When you reada my last post, you'll see that it was done at 1:30 AM!!!! I was up with horrible sinus pressure, but I was also looking for those stinkin little elves - I looked EVERYWHERE - for nearly an hour!!!! I even tip toed in and looked in all 3 childrens' beds - I could not find them anywhere. At 5:30 this morning I woke Will up to ask him - in a near panic - he laughed and said those elves sure are sneaky -- this is where HE had put them last night:

Well, who needs sleep anyways?

A snapshot(s) of a day

It's 1:30 in the morning and I am up with major sinus pressure - my face hurts from my cheek bones to my neck - I've maxed out on Tylenol and there is no ibuprofen in the house, so I will get some tomorrow, but for now, while sleep eludes me, this is what I do...in addition to searching for those pesky little elves - they are no where to be found - what am I going to do with those guys????? I'm getting a little nervous that they are not going to make it back from the North Pole!!!!!!

This little guy turns 7 months old today - man time is just flying by - I want to freeze it so badly - he is such a joy - God has blessed me so much and I thank God for Henderson and Wilson and Emma Claire and that I get to spend the time I do with them each day - they are all different and special in their own ways. I thank God too, for a wonderful husband who provides for us and loves us and is so patient and good. I am truly blessed.

I think Henderson is a little fed up!

This was the first time I have ever let Emma Claire hold Henderson while standing up - can you tell she is excited? Henderson, on the other hand, looks like a deer caught in head lights! I was within arms-reach the whole time - PROMISE!!!!!

Henderson is not quite crawling, but might as well be, he's getting around!!!! This was always one of Wilson's "hotspots" - wouldn't eat people food, but you could always find him eating Daisy's food!

Wilson is just a little clown!

Trying REAL hard to crawl!!!!

And then I fall over and Laugh Laugh Laugh!!!!

We got a new computer over the weekend and I can hardly get on for Emma Claire hogging it!

They've been up to it again...

Thanksgiving morning, the elves rolled MY Christmas tree - oh the nerve of them!!!!! The next day they got into the Christmas cookies and left crumbs ALL OVER the kitchen (NO PICTURES)- they were worn out from traveling all the way to the North Pole and needed some nourishment!!!!
They then had a little "break" from all the "watching" and "traveling" and acting "crazy" b/c Emma Claire and Wilson went to stay with my mom and dad and their cousins in B'ham and they got "left behind", so all they had to watch was Henderson - and he's 6 months old - not sure he's really aacountable for his actions quite yet. Though, rest assured that one of the first things Emma Claire asked me when we picked her up was, "what did the elves do while I was gone?" - I told her I'd tell her in the car =).
Well, this morning, she'll wake up to pretty little elves dressed up in dress-up clothes!!!!!

I hope you're enjoying this Christmas season (finally) - may we not forget Jesus, our Savior, who was born and died and lives for you and me!
Do you know Him?

National Lampoons Thanksgiving

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving at our house - full of laughter, kids, dogs, and mess. 12 adults (my aunt and uncle came down with the flu - so they couldn't make it, thank goodness they found out before they came all the way from south Florida though), 5 children (5 and under) 3 dogs.

We planned to eat at 1:00 - the hope was that Wilson would be down for a nap

Wilson napped at 10:00 instead

My aunt and uncle arrived at 12:00

As they were arriving, both Wilson and Henderson were waking up from their naps

Wilson began puking - everywhere - on Daisy, on Will, on the floor

My aunt and uncle and cousins were driving up the driveway at this same time

My mom and dad were slicing the turkey

My sister was changing Henderson into his Thanksgiving clothes

Will and I were gagging and Wilson was laying on the floor covered in vomit

We sent Daisy out the door (to greet our guests!!!) covered in puke - in hopes that she wouldn't spread it all over the house

Will ran upstairs to change his ENTIRE outfit - well, pants and shirt - I guess men don't like their clothes to be called "outfits"

I layed Wilson in the floor, so I could quickly clean it all up - in hopes that my house wouldn't smell too bad - all the while I was yelling at the other 3 children - "Don't you dare come down here!!!"

Our (first time) guests come in - and are greeted by someone (I hope)

I get it all cleaned up and carry Wilson up stairs and lay him in the bath tub - he won't even sit up and clean him, dress him in a t-shirt and lay him on a mattress in our bedroom - he goes right back to sleep

I go to the kitchen, scrub my hands REALLY good and try to act like a good hostess!!!!

After I finish eating, I go check on Wilson and he says he wants to get up, so I carry him out just to see everyone (from a distance) and about 3 minutes later, he's sweaty and crying, so I run him back to my room and he throws up again.

I lay him back down and he goes back to sleep

About 30 minutes later, I look up from nursing Henderson and I see my mom with Wilson outside

She says he wanted to get up

I said, "Well, watch out!"

She gets him some pumpkin roll, b/c he says he's hungry - I do not think this is a good idea, but they are outside and I am not around, so let them be

He eats it and wants more, he eats more and wants even more!!!!

Then he swings on the swing set - I just know he is about to spew

But he doesn't - he begins playing and is fine the rest of the day!!!! Thank you God!

Needless to say, I didn't get many good pictures on this day

This is what Wilson did on Wednesday - do you think this had anything to do with it?

The pictures that follow are from Thanksgiving morning when we swapped gifts with my sisters b/c we won't see them on Christmas this year!

I hope yours was a good one!
