EASTER, Part 1

This is a picture of Will and I last night before we left fr our mini-vacation! It was fabulous, fun, relaxing, great for our marriage! Thank you Will, I love you!

A Big Thank you to Katie and Matt for doing a great job watching our children - You said they were great, but I'll really know how they were if you wait 10 years before having children!!!! :~)

Emma Claire's furry critter!

Roses Will gave me - 6 wonderful years!!!!

Easter Egg Hunt #1 - train ride

Can you tell what's happening in the picture below? Wilson was late getting to the egg hunt and all the eggs were gone - his sweet big sister dropped eggs out of her basket so he could "find" some!!!!

Fun with cousins!

and Friends!

I promise, we DID NOT plan this!

Easter Egg Hunt #2 (for today)

This was the best Easter Egg Hunt EVER - so she said....the prizes in the eggs were fabulous! Emma Claire made $11.50!!!!! She thought this was sooooo cool!

Emma Claire "gets" the whole Easter Egg Hunt thing - she races and gathers lots and lots of eggs

She was in speedy motion!!!!!

My favorite comment of the day..... Emma Claire opened an empty egg and declared,
"Mommy! It's an egg from God - like the empty tomb!!!!"
I'm glad she "gets" that too!

An Easter Playdate!

Wednesday afternoon I had Marlee and Mary Alice over to play with Emma Claire before church. Mary Alice's mom, Ashley, had a last minute appointment to show her house, so this enabled her to get her house ready without little girls running around and pulling out toys and dolls!!!!

Easter Cookies and Jellybeans were eaten

Easter Bunny Marshmallows were devoured - even this little guy snuck one!

(He's clinched tightly to that bag, saying "don't you dare take this goodness from me!")

Everyone got a chance to show me their "mallow mouth"!!!!

Ashley and Sarah Davis arrived - I don't know who was more worn out - Ashley from speed cleaning her house, or me, with 5 little children running around!

A fun game of hide-and-seek!!!!!

(no one wanted the be the seeker!!!)

This is the little guy that wore me out the most - flat out refused to take a nap, took his underwear off and pooped right smack in the middle of Emma Claire's floor (amongst the pretty girls, I might add!), (only accident this week, but at least he thought to take his underwear off first - I think he was trying to show off for the girls:), threw the roll of paper towels (that I had out to clean up the poop) into the toilet and then got them out and consequently got water ALL OVER The bathroom and adjoining rooms!!!! He then got a spanking and sat in time out for being rough with the girls......what else???? Let's just say I was GLAD to be going to the House of the Lord that night!

These 3 had a blast - they are the sweetest group of girls I have ever met - Have I said that before? Oh Yeah, I have! We are so blessed to be surrounded by such great friends and family!

What a weekend we have coming up - Will and I are taking a "mini vacation" tonight in honor of our Anniversary that happens to fall on Easter Sunday this year! We are staying in town, but going out to dinner and spending the night out! I am going to a local spa this afternoon and Will is getting a massage in the morning - much needed pampering!!!! Then the weekend REALLY gets kicked off with an Egg Hunt on Saturday from 11-1, then another from 2-4, then a Sunday School social from 5-8!!!! Sunday of course is Easter morning and then a lunch at Will's parents house with all his family and mine and then another Easter Egg hunt in the backyard with cousins and THEN, if that is not enough, Sunday afternoon, Emma Claire is leaving for the beach for Spring Break with her Aunt Ellen and Nana and cousins!!!!! I need to get her packed and ready!!!!! A big Thanks to my sister, Katie and her fiance Matt for coming this afternoon to take care of the 3 munchkins while Will and I enjoy a night out!

She Scored!!!!!

The shout out goes to Emma Claire today - she played a GREAT soccer game tonight! She scored her first goal (I think we gave her credit the first game for a goal, but it was really just a whole group kicking at the ball beside the goal). Tonight she dribbled the ball all the way down the field by herself and sent it straight into the goal!!!! She was so excited she ran away from the goal with her hands in the air like a pro!!!!!

(the pictures are a little blurry, I had my camera set on Portrait instead of sports)
She is really improving with every game - this group of girls is AMAZING - and they have so much fun together!

Everyone had a great time tonight - we even made a trip to McDonalds to celebrate Wilson's great week with NO ACCIDENTS!!!!!!

Donuts Anyone?

I have to give a shout out to Wilson - the little guy has done a great job of potty-training, specifically poo-poo training lately!!! His reward (simply b/c he is grossly underweight and it's one of the few things foodwise he gets excited about) is a "Big Donut"!!!! On Friday afternoon he did it - on his own he poo-pooed in the potty - now, we've had the tee-tee down pat for awhile now, but he was just too stubborn or afraid or whatever, to get the "other" down. Not anymore, I am proud to say that over the last 5 days, he has worn underwear all day and not had a single accident!!!!
But before you get too excited, I will say that the last 2 days, he has waited until I put a diaper on him at nap time and immediately once I left his room, he has pooped in his diaper. I don't know if this is a coincidence (probably not) or if he is holding it for the long-awaited diaper (likely).

I am not ready to attempt "bedtime" training with him yet, mainly because he still goes to bed at naptime and bedtime with a bottle full of whole milk - the only 2 FULL bottles and his main source of nutrition ALL.DAY.LONG - if you've read my blog for awhile, or know him personally, you know that this has been an issue for him his entire life. He is tiny and does not like to eat - ANYTHING!!!!! So for now, I am not going to sacrifice that bedtime bottle for a dry night. It'll come soon enough. I am just starting to see him "get" the whole BIG BOY idea and turn his nose up, so to speak, at babyish things. I have a feeling he will give up the bottle on his own before long, striving for "bigger things in life."

You see those 2 little nibbles out of that doughnut? Yep, that's all he ate - I'm telling you, he's not a big eater, though the medicine is helping some - he has an appetite, just doesn't eat MUCH. On a good note, the donut reward seems to keep working - usually he grows tired of a food after a couple days and it no longer excites him, but not these - he works HARD for them!!!! Another note about that medicine, Periactin, (more for my recollection than anything else) - I have gone to giving it to him only once a day at bedtime. It is an antihistamine that has the fortunate side effect of appetite stimulant, but like other antihistamines, makes him sleepy. He did not fall asleep when I gave it to him in the morning, but it did make him VERY IRRITABLE - after a couple weeks of seeing him act like the tasmanian devil and hearing his teacher tell me he was just "ill", I decided the benefits did not outweigh the negative side effects and put him on it just once a day. His attitude and demeanor have been MUCH better!!!!

Emma Claire, on the other hand, like her mommy, can inhale a doughnut in 5 seconds flat - I won't tell you how many I've eaten since last Friday. Let's just say, AS A FAMILY, we've gone through 2 dozen in 5 days and the children don't get more than 1 a day and Will has one now and then - I have no willpower when it comes to those soft, warm, sugar and fat-filled, melt in your mouth deliciousness!!!!!

This little guy hasn't yet got to taste the goodness of doughnuts, but his first birthday is coming up VERY SOON, so we will see what kind of sweet tooth he has!!!!!

COLD

Henderson wore this pretty Spring outfit yesterday - and was comfortable in it all day long

Today...he wore a sweat suit to school and will still freeze when he gets outside

CRAZY Alabama spring weather
But isn't he a doll? he could definitely pass as a girl - and I can get away with dressing him "pretty" for only a short time now.
Warm weather come back soon - I miss you!
