Wake up call!

Several times this weekend when I would sit down with the children to eat snack or b'fast or lunch, my children and I would all dig in and then I would look up to see Wilson, my 18 month old, looking at me with his hands folded in front of him ready to say the prayer. Now he can't talk well enough to pray himself, he does put in a good "AMEN" at the end, but he has witnessed it enough (thank God) to know that that is what we do before we eat. We are really good about praying consistently before more "formal" meals like dinner where we are all at the table, but I have to confess that at hurried lunches where it's just the children eating or breakfast or snacks, I often forget to lead him in prayer. Well, it was definitely a wake up call to have him reminding me to say Thanks!

Here goes nothing!

Well, I have had so much fun reading other blogs, that I am taking the plunge and setting up my own. Here's what is going on in our family. I am working as a registered dietitian for a state mental health facility, and Will works as Human Resources Manager for Westervelt Lumber. We have 2 children, Emma Claire and Wilson who keep us very busy. Emma Claire just got her cast off her right leg yesterday, so yea!!!! She fractured her leg playing soccer. Wilson is a typical 18 month old boy - into everything, but the most precious thing ever -- he keeps us laughing and smiling. Henderson is scheduled to be delivered May 2 via C-section. We are so excited that spring has sprung -- we try to get outside every chance we get - and even more so now that Emma Claire has gotten her cast off. Easter was wonderful around here - we had 2 easter egg hunts that Emma Claire really got into - Wilson just loved being outside - that's his favorite place! Then on Sunday, after an amazing worship service and sunday school we had lunch at Will's parents' house and then went to Will's sister's house (Ellen) to hunt Easter eggs - the children played hard until 6:45!!!! For those who might read this who aren't familiar with our family, Will has a sister, Ellen, who lives a mile from us with 3 children - Chandler (6), Patton (3), Mills (20 months), and Stanton on the way in May also!!!! Besides Chandler (who was born while Will and I were still dating) all our children were born within weeks of each other! So needless to say we have a lot in common and are as close as any true sisters! So anyways, here are a few pictures of our family. the latest ones still haven't made it to my computer, so they will be posted next week hopefully! Enjoy!
