Braided Perm

This morning, Emma Claire got a shower before school. I didn't have time to completely dry her hair, given that I try to be at work at 7:00 every morning, so I braided the front part in 2 braids, added bright pink polka dot ribbons (we DO live in the South, by the way!!!) and she was off!

Tonight, when I took her hair down, I started laughing....not at her, but at the flashback that was going through my mind....

Me, 1987, begging my mom, every night, to braid my hair in teeny tiny braids and let me sleep on it, so that when I woke up, it could look something like this....

Except all the way around, of course.

I promise she did not go to school or church looking like that - here's proof!!!!

Catching a bike ride in the dark after church!

Please tell me you wore your hair like that AT LEAST ONCE, if not everyday (I only wished), like me!!!!

Tuesday night, was the big rivalry soccer game - Emma Claire and all her girlfriends - GO WILDCATS GO!!!! against THE BOYS and one little girl - all their best friends and Emma Claire's cousin, Patton! It was a great game - I do believe they tied, though we were NOT keeping score - yeah right :~) Those boys hung right in there!!!! Ha Ha !!!!

Guess who started walking like a CHAMP last week!!!???? Go Henderson!!!!

But he still reverts to crawling when he needs to get somewhere FAST!!!!!

I'll leave you with a dirty kiss....

Well, the title made me laugh before I even read the post! The "perm" pictures are hilarious! How in the world do you make it to work before 7? I struggle to get get by 7:30. You must got to bed super early:)

Wow - that brought back memories from way back. I remember spending the night at friend's houses and their mom's braiding their hair for them to sleep in on Saturday night so it would be pretty for church on Sunday. I never had the braided perm - I had the real thing.

I remember wanting a crimper so I could have that exact same look. And probably would have thought the two crimps on the side, none in the back was a great look!

I know you're so glad she's back home!

I was looking at your tweets and can't believe little Henderson is going to be a year soon. I was looked back through you post last year and boy, did you have a tiny little belly! So precious. You looked great! I bet you can't believe he's going to be a year in so soon. They grow too fast! Love the "crawling" photo.

She's cute no matter WHAT her hair looks like! Love the pink and green skirt! Where are her glasses???

I remember those little pink foamy curlers we use to put in our wet hair at night to sleep in. That gave us about the same outcome as Miss Emma Claire's!

Also...you are at work before I ever wake up in the morning. How sad.

I remember doing that to my hair but mine is so straight it required a crimping iron. Fun stuff...
